About the position

The Bartender/Server at BOIL Seafood House is responsible for maintaining the bar, creating cocktails, and providing exceptional customer service. This role involves taking drink orders, mixing cocktails, and assisting with various front-of-house tasks as needed. The position requires flexibility to work in different capacities based on business levels and reports directly to the Manager on Duty.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing the bar with necessary items such as stools, napkins, straws, and glasses.
  • Taking client drink orders and ensuring high-level customer service.
  • Mixing and preparing client drink orders according to specifications and restaurant policies.
  • Communicating with serving staff to fulfill alcoholic drink orders for all tables.
  • Processing payment of meals using the restaurant's point-of-sale system, Toast POS.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area to meet restaurant standards.
  • Assisting staff with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of front-of-house and storage areas.
  • Assisting servers in running food, seating customers, and taking tables.
  • Adhering to closing server side work list at the end of the day shift.
  • Assisting patrons in selecting food and beverages by presenting menus and offering suggestions.
  • Running food from the kitchen to guests in assigned serving sections.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to guests in assigned sections.
  • Maintaining order and high standards on the serving floor during working hours.
  • Maintaining a positive, professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Attending team and restaurant-wide meetings as necessary.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of previous experience as a bartender.
  • Proficient knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
  • Adequate familiarity with mixed drinks, bottled wine, and beer.
  • 1-3 years of proven experience as a server.
  • Basic understanding of best practices in the restaurant industry.
  • Outstanding verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Leadership qualities such as superior work ethic, trustworthiness, self-confidence, and the ability to delegate.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
