Bartender - Soho House West Hollywood

About the position

The Bartender at Soho House is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages while providing exceptional service to guests and members. This role is integral to creating memorable experiences and driving sales through engaging interactions and a deep knowledge of the beverage menu. The Bartender acts as an ambassador for the Soho House brand, ensuring a fun and inviting atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Prepare alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages according to recipes and company guidelines.
• Serve food and beverages to guests in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area, collaborating with other bartenders for cleanliness.
• Educate guests about beverage options and daily specials to enhance their experience.
• Collect payments and operate a cash register accurately.
• Check customer identification to ensure legal drinking age compliance.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in replenishing supplies as needed.
• Create attractive displays of bottles and glasses to promote beverage options.
• Upsell menu items and create new drink recipes as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a high-volume food and beverage operation.
• Craft cocktail experience and familiarity with seasonally influenced ingredients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and deliver drink requests efficiently.
• TIPS certification is required.
• Experience with Micros POS system is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of local and seasonal ingredients for cocktail preparation.
• Experience in a luxury or high-end hospitality environment.
