About the position

The Bartender at The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a friendly and timely manner. This role involves adhering to liquor regulations, maintaining stock, and ensuring a clean and organized work area while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves beverages to guests in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Adheres to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations.
  • Sets up assigned bars and stocks all necessary supplies.
  • Maintains stock and prepares fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes.
  • Greets guests courteously and takes drink orders.
  • Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard recipes.
  • Checks guests for proper identification and detects inebriation.
  • Receives cash from guests and ensures proper execution of charges.
  • Locks up and stores all beverage products and cash drops securely.
  • Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Experience in bartending or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to mix and present drinks according to standard recipes.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with guests.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a high-volume bar environment.
  • Knowledge of craft cocktails and mixology techniques.
