About the position

The Bartender position involves preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers while providing excellent customer service. The role requires interaction with patrons, handling cash transactions, and maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar environment. This position can be part-time or full-time, with flexible scheduling options available.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
• Interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations
• Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for alcohol consumption
• Clean and sanitize work area, utensils, and equipment
• Maintain a well-stocked bar with supplies and ingredients
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
• Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register or POS system
• Upsell food and beverage items to increase sales revenue
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve any customer complaints or issues

Requirements

• Knowledge of proper food handling techniques to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination
• Ability to provide friendly, efficient, and attentive service to meet customer needs
• Proficiency in basic math skills such as calculating totals, making change, and handling cash transactions
• Experience using the Aloha POS system for order entry, payment processing, and inventory management
• Knowledge of different brewing methods and ability to prepare specialty coffee or tea beverages
• Ability to upsell products and promote specials or new menu items to increase sales
• Familiarity with food industry regulations, health codes, and best practices for food safety
• Understanding of proper food storage, handling, and preparation techniques to maintain quality and prevent foodborne illnesses
• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations for measuring ingredients, calculating recipe proportions, and processing payments
