About the position

The BAS/HVAC Application Engineer I at Certified Control Systems is responsible for assisting in the design and implementation of Building Automation and HVAC Control Systems. This role involves collaborating with application engineers to gather customer input, prepare technical documentation, and provide support during system startup and commissioning. The position emphasizes teamwork, customer service, and technical proficiency in HVAC systems and controls.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of Building Automation/HVAC Control Systems based on project documents.
  • Produce site-specific installation drawings and select appropriate controllers, sensors, and accessories.
  • Prepare submittal data and revisions for approved submittal packages.
  • Provide Controls or Systems databases, graphics, programming, etc. for project specifications.
  • Communicate with clients and provide high levels of customer service.
  • Work with customers on recommendations and best practices for their systems.
  • Assist Startup Technicians in troubleshooting installation issues during startup and commissioning.
  • Provide technical support to Project Management and Installation personnel on project sites.
  • Support other contractors on project sites as needed.
  • Provide input to the Engineering Department and Sales staff for accurate estimation and design.
  • Assist in maintaining standards in project execution and materials.
  • Support the Service Department on upgrades and existing installations.
  • Prepare as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
  • Report project status to company leadership and sales team.
  • Maintain a safe work environment on all projects.
  • Promote and participate in education and training opportunities.

Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree in HVAC or Electronics related studies preferred or applicable field experience.
  • An undergraduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical related studies is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, control systems, and related supporting utilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of customer service and standard office practices.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Automated Logic Engineering Design Suite (EDS).
  • Niagara AX Certified or Niagara 4 Certified.
