About the position

The Base Aviation Maintenance Technician at Air Evac Lifeteam is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of aircraft in accordance with the company's General Operations Manual and Policies and Procedures. This role requires a proactive approach to aircraft maintenance, including compliance with the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AAIP). The technician will also assist in covering open shifts as needed, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the team's operational needs. In this position, the technician will engage in various essential functions, including maintaining the aircraft, participating in cleaning duties alongside the crew, and performing housekeeping tasks to keep the hangar area neat and presentable. The technician will monitor aircraft maintenance statuses and maintain effective communication with regional maintenance personnel to ensure timely and proper maintenance is conducted. Reading, understanding, and interpreting maintenance manuals, technical websites, and written or verbal instructions are crucial aspects of the job. Additionally, the technician is expected to report any major malfunctions or aircraft damage promptly and submit all necessary paperwork in a neat and timely manner. Promoting a positive company image is also a key responsibility, as the technician will provide courteous, efficient, and safe service to customers. Adherence to all relevant policies and procedures is essential for maintaining operational integrity and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner with emphasis on compliance with the AAIP.
  • Participate in the cleaning of the aircraft with the crew.
  • Perform housekeeping duties required to keep the hangar area neat, clean, and presentable.
  • Monitor aircraft maintenance statuses and maintain relationships with regional maintenance personnel to ensure proper and timely maintenance is conducted.
  • Read, understand and interpret maintenance manuals, technical websites, and written/verbal instructions.
  • Report any major malfunctions or aircraft damage to appropriate individuals in the most expeditious manner.
  • Submit all appropriate paperwork in a neat and timely manner.
  • Actively promote a positive company image by providing the customer with courteous, efficient, and safe service.
  • Become thoroughly acquainted with and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in helicopter maintenance.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • State Driver's License.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent training.
