About the position

The Baseball Athletic Coach position at Northwest Middle School is a part-time role focused on coaching middle school baseball. The coach will be responsible for developing the skills of student-athletes, promoting teamwork, and ensuring a positive and competitive environment. The coaching supplement for this position is determined based on the athletic special supplement schedule and ranges from $233.00 to $434.00 monthly, depending on the coach's experience. The position may also involve additional coaching duties, which will be assigned by the Principal and/or Athletic Director, and may come with additional compensation. The coach will be expected to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff, and to uphold the values and standards of the school’s athletic program. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement practice plans for the baseball team.
• Coach student-athletes in the fundamentals of baseball.
• Promote teamwork and sportsmanship among players.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• Ensure compliance with school and district athletic policies.
• Attend all scheduled games and practices.
• Assist in the recruitment of student-athletes for the baseball program.

Requirements

• Successful high school and/or college baseball experience or other relevant experience.
• Ability to hold or be eligible for a NC commercial driver's license to operate a school activity bus (preferred).
• Willingness to undergo periodic US Department of Transportation random controlled substance screenings.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous coaching experience at the middle school level or higher.
