About the position

This position is for an Electrical Engineer (EE) specializing in baseband hardware within Apple's Hardware Technology group. The role involves designing, implementing, and integrating the baseband system for all Apple products, focusing on digital and power management for wireless chipsets. The candidate will collaborate with multi-functional engineering teams and contribute to the development of next-generation chipsets, ensuring high standards of creativity and innovation in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the architecture of the baseband system for Apple products.
• Collaborate with architects and IC designers during the architectural stage of chipset development.
• Drive schematics, layout, and bring-up of both development and form factor hardware.
• Debug hardware, software, and co-existence issues related to wireless chipsets.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Apple SoC, battery, and sensors to maintain a comprehensive understanding of the product landscape.

Requirements

• BSEE degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with schematic capture and layout design.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with mobile platform system design and integration.
• Familiarity with high-volume consumer electronics design.
• Experience with voltage regulators, LDO, and switch mode power supplies (SMPS).
• Knowledge of high-speed and low-speed digital interfaces such as PCIe, SPMI, I2C, and UART.
• Bench-level design verification experience with high-speed oscilloscopes.
• Signal and power integrity simulation experience using tools like Matlab, PowerSI, SIwave, and HFSS.
