About the position
The Kalbasi Lab at Stanford University is seeking a Research Scientist to lead scientific experiments focused on the cancer-immune interface, particularly in T cell therapy, cytokines, and innate immune agonists. The role involves overseeing experimental design, execution, data analysis, and presentation, while also mentoring junior lab members and ensuring smooth laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead scientific experiments including design, execution, and data analysis.
- Oversee the design and execution of experiments by junior lab members.
- Assist other laboratory members with their experimental designs and execution.
- Work alongside the Principal Investigator (PI) to mentor junior lab members.
- Participate in the training and development of students and post-doctoral fellows.
- Ensure efficient operations of the lab, including budget management and equipment care.
- Address regulatory and administrative requirements.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in immunology, cancer biology, or a related field.
- Post-doctoral experience in immunology or cancer biology is preferred.
- Extensive experience with mouse models of cancer and immunotherapy.
- Experience in molecular biology, especially genetic manipulation of immune and cancer cells (viral, CRISPR, etc.).
- Experience in microscopy/image analysis and/or computational biology is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
