The expected first tournament date is October 5th, 2024, and the role requires 100% weekend availability from October to March, as the tournaments are primarily held during this period. In this role, you will be responsible for traveling to youth basketball tournaments, which may be up to 100 miles from your residence. This travel is essential for collecting vital media contact information, qualifying teams for the state-wide event, and capturing team photos for marketing purposes. Additionally, you will enhance the organization’s online presence by posting updates and highlights on social media platforms, particularly Facebook. The position offers a pay rate of $20 per hour, along with a mileage reimbursement of $0.50 per mile traveled. The State Basketball Championship has been operating since 2012 and is recognized for hosting the largest qualifier-based youth basketball tournaments across the nation. With a lineup of 16 championship tournaments planned for 2025, the organization draws participation from over 22,000 players across 22 states. The events are held in premier venues, including the University of Wisconsin, University of Illinois, and the University of Missouri, providing a fantastic backdrop for youth basketball competitions.
