About the position
The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing the production and loading of materials in the batch plant, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations. This role involves scheduling deliveries, maintaining equipment, and producing concrete that meets customer requirements. The operator must work efficiently and safely while adhering to environmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Batch concrete loads according to mixed designs and specifications.
- Conduct batching operations in an efficient and safe manner while complying with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure compliance with job specifications and all applicable environmental and air quality regulations.
- Produce on-time and in-spec concrete for customers.
- Print delivery tickets for each truck/load and provide copies to truck drivers for customer payment.
- Maintain efficient working conditions of plant equipment and perform maintenance tasks such as greasing and cleaning.
- Become proficient in batching, dispatching, and quality control software.
- Maintain time and material records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of batching-related experience preferred.
- Experience in a building materials/construction industry preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to understand appropriate uses of various mix designs.
- Ability to test concrete for conformance with mix design and specification.
- Ability to conduct moisture tests and yield calculations.
