About the position

The Batcher at Cambrex is responsible for managing raw materials and in-process materials essential for various manufacturing areas. This role involves batching exact quantities, filling out batch cards and sheets, and transporting materials to manufacturing areas while adhering to FDA and cGMP regulations. The position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of materials within the chemical plant, contributing to the overall manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Transport finished chemical products, in-process materials, and supply items from manufacturing areas and the warehouse to correct locations according to FDA and cGMP regulations.
  • Transport hazardous wastes from manufacturing areas to correct storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and compliance with EPA regulations.
  • Handle and transport flammable materials within manufacturing areas.
  • Move supply items such as centrifuge papers and filter papers from the warehouse to manufacturing areas.
  • Assist with general trucking of material within the chemical plant.
  • Record in-process and finished material transfers on log sheets, including weights, serial or lot numbers, and locations in the warehouse.
  • Validate actual transfer of in-process and finished lots with correct labels, batch yield, and transfer weights.
  • Maintain order and housekeeping of warehouse storage areas following strict FDA and cGMP regulations.
  • Monitor refrigerated trailers, ensuring and recording proper temperature and storage practices.
  • Safely handle controlled substances, including record keeping and inventory management.
  • Assist shipping and receiving with material movement and status tagging as needed.
  • Support QA Auditor with status tagging, finished goods inspection, sampling, and material movement.
  • Transport and deliver internal mail between the Chemical Production office and the mail room.
  • Deliver and pick up samples for laboratory and manufacturing areas.
  • Conduct inventory checks as directed.
  • Maintain buffer inventory to meet Chemical Production needs.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude/knowledge.
  • Some manufacturing experience preferred.
