About the position

As a Bathing Technician at PetIQ, you will provide a compassionate and safe bathing experience for pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role is essential in delivering the company's brand promise to pet parents and involves maintaining a clean work environment while promoting safety and effective relationships with pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Safely restrain and hold pets for wellness procedures including nail trims, anal gland expression, and clipping.
• Make recommendations for services and products based on the pet's lifestyle and hygiene needs.
• Scan pets for microchips.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by disinfecting surfaces and equipment between each pet.
• Promote a culture of safety in the salon and reinforce the brand promise with pet parents and team members.
• Achieve goals set by the manager, including dollars per pet and preferred products sold.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with pet parents and partners.
• Collect payment, dispense and label medication, and review discharge paperwork with pet parents.
• Perform bathing functions as requested by pet parents.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Industry relevant experience.
• Experience with time and attendance/HR Software, scheduling databases, and iPad technology.
• Understanding of canine behaviors.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evening shifts.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Safe Pet Handling.
• Experience with brushing, combing, bathing, and drying of all coat types.
• Experience with nail trimming and ear cleaning.
• Ability to execute preparatory hair trimming and provide basic finishing techniques.
• High level of customer service experience.
• Experience with pet salon equipment handling and maintenance.
• Familiarity with safety and sanitization protocols.
