This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a small, hard-working, and accomplished team of experts, you will be integral in the development, qualification, and production of battery power distribution products in support of New Glenn mission. Your primary technical responsibility is for the electrical design of the power distribution unit, system integration with other multi-functional teams. You will also be responsible for component and subsystem level validation as well as introducing the design to volume production. Responsibilities

  • Support the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle.
  • Design and integrate the electrical power distribution unit with multi-functional teams.
  • Conduct component and subsystem level validation for battery power distribution products.
  • Introduce designs to volume production for battery systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure safety and quality in all phases of development.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in battery and/or power distribution development, with 3+ years in space applications desired.
  • Direct experience with Battery Design, Test, and Manufacturing.
  • 3 years of experience with high voltage systems design and/or testing.
  • Experience specifying and justifying margins and test sequences for high power systems.
  • Desire to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in development of launch vehicles.
  • Experience with human spaceflight or high-performance aircraft systems.
  • Experience across multiple portions of the product life cycle.
  • Experience with Primavera (P6), DOORS, CREO, Windchill.
