The Battery Energy Storage System Technician position at Sonic Systems International LLC involves working in the field at remote power generation facilities, specifically solar and wind sites where battery storage systems are being installed. The role requires individuals who are willing to travel for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions, including summer heat. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, remediation, testing, and commissioning of grid-scale battery storage systems. Training will be provided to ensure that technicians are well-equipped to handle the tasks at hand. The work primarily involves low voltage connections and computer interface and control systems. Technicians must adhere to all safety rules and provisions, including the periodic use of a 40 cal arc flash suit. Effective communication skills, both written and oral, are essential, as is the ability to manage time effectively. The company emphasizes the importance of punctuality and attendance, as tardiness and no-shows will not be tolerated. A clean background with no outstanding or pending charges is required, along with the ability to pass a drug and alcohol test at the time of hire and randomly thereafter. Responsibilities
- Travel to remote power generation facilities (Solar/Wind) for battery storage system installations.
- Troubleshoot, remediate, test, and commission grid-scale battery storage systems.
- Perform low voltage connections and work with computer interface and control systems.
- Adhere to safety rules and provisions, including wearing a 40 cal arc flash suit when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients, both in writing and verbally.
- Manage time effectively to ensure punctuality and attendance at work sites.
Requirements
- OSHA - 10 certification is a plus.
- Experience with electrical systems and controls is a plus.
- Familiarity with the use of different model multimeters is a plus.
- Willingness to travel for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to follow directions and learn to grow into the role.
- Effective written and oral communication abilities.
- Effective time management skills.

- Valid Driver's License.
