About the position

Huntsman Advanced Materials is seeking a Battery Laboratory Technician to support operations of the materials development and cell testing lab in the HATC R&D Center in Texas. As the Battery Laboratory Technician, you will contribute to the operation of the battery materials development laboratory, assuring safe operations according to local guidance and safety EHS standards. You will support product development and research projects on battery materials, assist in performing experiments required for qualification of various novel materials, and conduct testing according to established protocols. You will also utilize an electronic notebook to collect test results and maintain formulation database records. Additionally, you will conduct experiments on battery materials, assemble coin and pouch cells to evaluate electrochemical performance, and perform formulation trials at lab scale while conducting pertinent material characterizations. Following and documenting procedures for electrode coating and drying, calendaring, cell assembly, and electrochemical testing to evaluate quality and performance metrics will also be part of your responsibilities. You will operate and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment used for material characterization and experimental processes, including an Argon-filled glovebox, and ensure the collection of complete work documentation in electronic notebooks and shared databases.
