About the position

Natron Energy is seeking a Battery Product Development (PD) Engineering Manager to lead the development of Natron's proprietary Sodium Ion Battery Packs and Power Electronics. As the Pack PD leader, you will be responsible for the electromechanical design of Natron's battery packs and accompanying power electronics. Your team will be responsible for the design release of highly cost-optimized, manufacturable battery packs and power electronics. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and play a lead role in the development of your team's capabilities. You will partner closely with Electrical Engineering on the packaging and layout of key electronics, Cell Engineering on the specification of the Natron's own proprietary cell, System Engineering in the development of robust requirements, Reliability and Test on the validation of the product, Supply Chain in the optimization of sourcing, and Manufacturing as we introduce our first-generation product into series production. Your team will be instrumental in the development of a high cost-optimized, manufacturable energy storage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of Sodium Ion Battery Packs and Power Electronics.
  • Oversee the electromechanical design of battery packs and power electronics.
  • Ensure design release of manufacturable battery packs and power electronics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Electrical Engineering, Cell Engineering, System Engineering, Reliability and Test, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
  • Mentor and manage engineers to enhance their skills and impact on the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, electrical, or related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in electromechanical product design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong communication skills to report progress to leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in electromechanical product design for series production, including PLM, change control, GD&T, DFMEA, and design for manufacturability.
  • Direct experience in the development of high voltage (300 - 800 V) electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with common manufacturing methods such as stamping, bending, casting, and injection molding.
