About the position

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will play a crucial role in our retail leadership team, working closely with the Store Manager to develop outstanding associates and deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will be responsible for driving growth across the store by fostering a customer-centric environment and ensuring that our associates are well-trained and motivated to meet performance expectations. Your leadership will help build a loyal customer base through engagement and effective sales strategies, while also maintaining operational excellence and adherence to company policies. In this role, you will attract, hire, and retain top talent, teaching and coaching associates to improve their selling potential. You will set clear performance expectations and accountability measures, ensuring that all associates understand their roles in achieving store goals. Your ability to lead by example and inspire your team will be essential in creating a high-performing environment that prioritizes customer satisfaction and sales results. You will also be responsible for implementing magazine direction to optimize business and bring the product story to life, while incorporating asset protection and safety messages into daily operations. As a key member of the sales leadership team, you will partner with others to support action plans that optimize results and ensure effective execution of operational activities. Your strong communication skills and ability to foster a customer-centric culture will be vital in achieving the store's objectives and enhancing the overall shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent
  • Teach, coach, and train to improve the success and selling potential of all associates
  • Effectively and fairly lead and drive high-performance of all associates
  • Set and reinforce clear and concise performance expectations, results goals, and accountability with all associates
  • Build highly satisfied and loyal customer base through engagement, conversion and gathering customer phone and e-mail information
  • Meet payroll targets by ensuring appropriate sales floor coverage and maintaining a selling focus
  • Implement and sustain magazine direction to optimize business and bring the product story to life
  • Consistently lead the focus on delivering emotionally engaging customer experiences while implementing sales strategies
  • Partner with the members of the sales leadership team to support action plans that optimize results and ensure effective execution of operational activities
  • Maintain policies and procedures
  • Incorporate asset protection and safety messages into daily operations

Requirements

  • Prior experience in leading teams in a customer-based sales environment
  • Proven track record driving sales results
  • Strong communication and ability to foster a customer centric selling culture
  • Able to provide in the moment coaching to associates
  • Availability for varied weekly shifts including weekend, closing and peak periods
  • Prior sales management experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail management
  • Knowledge of Bath & Body Works products and brand
  • Ability to analyze sales data and make informed decisions
