The Bearcat Coach position at LaMora Park Elementary School is a vital role aimed at improving student attendance and supporting their overall success. The Bearcat Coach will work closely with students, families, and school staff to create a safe and supportive environment that encourages regular school attendance and academic achievement. This position is essential in helping to identify students who are excessively truant and developing intervention strategies to assist them in overcoming barriers to attendance. The Bearcat Coach will collaborate with school staff to create individualized service plans tailored to the needs of students struggling with attendance issues. This role involves assessing students' attendance problems, facilitating positive family attitudes towards education, and providing resources and information to parents and guardians about the importance of school attendance. The Bearcat Coach will also implement truancy prevention programs and recommend strategies to improve regular school attendance, such as incentives and peer support groups. In addition to working directly with students and families, the Bearcat Coach will maintain a high-profile presence in the school environment, ensuring safe and orderly conduct in hallways and the lunchroom. Conducting safety and security assessments of the campus and surrounding areas is also a key responsibility. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain confidentiality and perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
