About the position

The Beauty and Wellness Consultant at Walgreens is responsible for maximizing sales and brand awareness by providing exceptional customer care. This role involves engaging with customers to offer personalized beauty and wellness solutions, conducting product demonstrations, and maintaining high standards in the beauty department. The consultant will also lead in-store events and build relationships with customers to enhance their shopping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Model and share customer care best practices by proactively offering assistance and informing customers of options.
  • Provide expertise in product demonstrations and consultations utilizing tools such as the Skin Hydrometer and tablet.
  • Lead and deliver in-store events to promote brand awareness and loyalty of Owned Brands and total Beauty, Wellness and Personal Care.
  • Build relationships with customers and provide authentic closure of customer interactions.
  • Engage with omni-channel solutions to enhance customer engagement/experience.
  • Achieve or exceed predetermined sales goals by assisting customers in the purchase of products.
  • Review beauty business on a regular basis to understand performance within store and district in partnership with store leadership.
  • Consistently focus on link-selling and up-selling with customers by showing them sale items and complimentary offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls concerning programs and promotions, new items, brand launches, and sales goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and at least one year of experience working in a retail sales environment that required meeting a defined sales goal.
  • At least one year of experience proactively selling beauty or cosmetic products and providing customer care.
  • Experience in developing ways to accomplish goals with little or no supervision.
  • Knowledge of products and brands to engage and meet the needs of the customer.
  • Basic level PC/tablet skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Licensure in Cosmetology or as an Esthetician granted by appropriate state licensing authority.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience demonstrating makeup application and providing makeovers to customers.
  • Experience selling Prestige brands.
  • Degree from Beauty School.
  • Experience with another retailer in the form of an Externship.
