About the position

The Beer Den Master is responsible for enhancing community engagement through guest loyalty and maximizing profits by fostering personal interactions with guests. This role involves managing inventory, building relationships with distributors, conducting events, and ensuring compliance with state laws regarding beer sales.

Responsibilities

  • Order and maintain appropriate inventory of Beer Den supplies.
  • Order and maintain appropriate inventory of draught beer.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with distributor/wholesaler partners as well as direct sales associates from breweries.
  • Regularly schedule events such as tap takeovers and conduct tastings as needed.
  • Assist with inventory and adhere to proper inventory practices as outlined by the Manager of Financial Perpetual Inventory.
  • Train all Beer Den Hosts and other Hosts throughout the store on operating procedures of the Beer Den.
  • Perform routine maintenance on Beer Den equipment as needed.
  • Drive packaged beer sales as well as growler sales, managing displays and working with distributors to ensure proper inventories.
  • Complete a weekly communication piece for Beer Den guests.
  • Attend various education and branding events scheduled by the Category Manager of Beer and Wine.
  • Educate guests on product attributes and provide guidance for specific needs/preferences.
  • Ensure marketing and brand materials are properly displayed and maintained.
  • Maintain the sanitation and appearance of the Beer Den.
  • Follow all state laws governing the sampling, sale, and purchasing of beer.
  • Fill growlers upon request by the guest according to established standards.
  • Announce specials and sale information on the PA system.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Working understanding of beer.
  • Familiarity with ALE laws governing the sale and purchasing of wine products.
  • Sales-minded with effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Self-motivated, trustworthy, and able to adhere to all guidelines.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to read and understand information and direction.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Store Manager, DSD Receiver, and vendors.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs consistently and 60lbs occasionally.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
