About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Spirits, Beer, and Wine Associate to join our team at Foundry Row Wine & Spirits in Owings Mills, MD. This full-time position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the beverage industry and possess a strong background in wine and spirits sales. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide exceptional customer service while meeting sales quotas. Candidates should be able to create a welcoming atmosphere for customers, ensuring they feel valued and informed about our products and services. In this role, you will be expected to engage with customers, understand their needs, and provide tailored recommendations based on your expertise in wine, beer, and spirits. You will also be responsible for answering questions, conducting product comparisons, and managing merchandise returns. A positive attitude and the ability to resolve customer issues promptly will be key to your success. Additionally, you will work closely with the Retail Sales Representatives team, especially during peak times, to ensure a seamless shopping experience for our customers. The position requires physical stamina, as you will need to stock products weighing over 40 pounds and maintain the organization of the store. Familiarity with social media management is a plus, as you may be involved in promoting our products and services through various online platforms. Staying up-to-date with new products and services will also be essential to provide accurate information to customers and enhance their shopping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct customers in the store.
  • Provide accurate information about product features, pricing, and after-sales services.
  • Answer customers' questions regarding specific products and services.
  • Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing decisions.
  • Manage returns of merchandise effectively.
  • Coordinate with the Retail Sales Representatives team to ensure excellent customer service, especially during peak times.
  • Inform customers about discounts and special offers available in the store.
  • Stay up-to-date with new products and services to provide informed recommendations.
  • Stock products and maintain inventory organization, including lifting items over 40lbs.

Requirements

  • Strong background in wine, spirits, and beer.
  • Understanding of the retail sales process.
  • Familiarity with consumer behavior principles.
  • Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory.
  • Excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with customers.
