About the position

The Before & Afterschool Youth Development Leaders at The Granite YMCA are responsible for facilitating engaging activities for children in the Before and After School programs. This role emphasizes creating a safe and nurturing environment while serving as a positive role model for youth. The position is ideal for individuals looking to advance their careers in education, childcare, or sports and recreation, with flexible scheduling options available.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate activities for children in Before and After School programs.
• Lead games, STEM activities, and provide homework help.
• Ensure a safe and caring environment for children at all times.
• Work as part of a team to support children's development.
• Act as a positive role model for youth.

Requirements

• Must meet State of NH Child Care Licensing requirements.
• Group Leaders must be at least 17 years old and have either 3 credits in Education or related field, 600 hours working with children, or 5 years of parenting experience.
• Assistant Group Leaders must be at least 15 years old and have a passion for working with youth.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in sports, arts & crafts, or STEM activities.
• Supervisory experience.
