About the position

The Before and After School Care Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Before and After School Care Programming during the school year and transitioning to camp programming in the summer. This full-time position involves planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, managing staff, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and participate in daily activities for youth before and after school.
  • Serve as a role model to staff and participants and act as the on-site supervisor of the Y BASE staff and camp programs.
  • Manage all materials and supplies needed for planned activities and maintain quality of supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Develop positive relationships with staff, families, and children, providing motivational support and guidance.
  • Build professional collaboration with local school district administration to develop programming that aligns with district values.
  • Maintain participant records and documentation in accordance with department requirements.
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness of learning spaces and classrooms.
  • Follow emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all children.
  • Attend all staff meetings and trainings as required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have 240 hours of experience in an approved education setting.
  • Must have completed high school or equivalent.
  • Must meet all Child Care Licensing requirements including specific courses or degrees in early childhood education or school-age growth and development.
  • Minimum of 240 hours of related experience working with early childhood or school-aged children in an approved setting.
  • Must be able and willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, and other certifications within a specified time frame.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others and relate effectively with diverse groups.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
  • Child Development Association credential.
