About the position

ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospital is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children and adolescents. As a 151-bed facility, it is the only hospital in northwest Ohio accredited by the Joint Commission that exclusively caters to pediatric needs. The hospital features a 60-bed newborn intensive care unit designed to provide a nurturing environment for infants, as well as a state-of-the-art children's cancer center. The ProMedica Finnegan Family Autism Center offers early intensive behavioral intervention services for children diagnosed with Autism, focusing on children from the age of diagnosis through 6 years old. The center operates year-round, providing both full-day and partial-day services with a 1:1 ratio and small group options as appropriate. The intervention utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to address skills in communication, play, socialization, behavior, and adaptive skills. The Behavior Analyst plays a crucial role in the assessment, treatment planning, and program development for children with autism at the Finnegan Family Autism Center. This position is dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in collaboration with each child, their families, and the treatment team. Responsibilities include designing and overseeing individual treatment plans, monitoring ongoing data collection, adjusting ABA programs and behavior intervention plans as necessary, and developing caseload reports and progress summaries. The Behavior Analyst will also provide hands-on training and supervision to registered behavior technicians, ensuring effective implementation of treatment strategies. Additionally, the role involves administering assessments, presenting at department meetings, and maintaining patient rights.

Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee individual treatment plans for children with autism.
  • Oversee the flow of programming and data collection in the assigned treatment setting.
  • Monitor ongoing data and make necessary adjustments to ABA programs and behavior intervention plans.
  • Develop and update caseload reports and progress summaries.
  • Create evidence-based training based on ongoing assessments.
  • Provide hands-on training and supervision to registered behavior technicians, including modeling and feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with families and clients, providing appropriate training and information.
  • Administer assessments including program development, functional behavior assessments, and program analysis.
  • Present on assigned topics at department meetings and in-services.
  • Maintain and protect patients' rights.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in behavior analysis, education, psychology, or a related field required.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst certification required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries.
  • Ability to frequently move, lift, or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs, approximately 20% of the time.
  • Proficient in inputting and retrieving information from a computer.
