About the position

The Behavior Analyst I position at the Health and Human Services Commission involves performing advanced behavior analysis work to assist patients with various cognitive, developmental, psychiatric, and physical needs. The role emphasizes providing compassionate, innovative, and individualized care while participating in treatment planning and the development of comprehensive treatment plans. The Behavior Analyst I will work under limited supervision, utilizing independent judgment to design, implement, and evaluate behavior therapy programs, and will also provide consultation and technical assistance to staff.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and assess individual patients to design positive interventions for behavioral challenges.
  • Conduct ongoing systematic monitoring and approval of functional behavioral assessments and behavior support plans.
  • Consult with staff on effective approaches to prevent and address challenging behaviors.
  • Write and communicate behavioral support plans to direct care staff.
  • Provide in-person training and updates to the treatment team as necessary.
  • Evaluate individual and group behavioral therapy programs and unit milieu management structures.
  • Design supplemental therapeutic programs at both individual and group levels.
  • Provide consultative services to treatment teams and unit staff on effective patient interaction and behavioral interventions.

Requirements

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst I (BCBA I) certification required.
  • Experience in behavior analysis and working with patients with cognitive, developmental, psychiatric, and physical needs.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong communication skills for training and consulting with staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a clinical or counseling psychology setting.
  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis techniques and methodologies.
