Behavior Consultant

About the position

The Behavior Consultant at Merakey is responsible for designing and implementing individualized behavior modification intervention plans for children and adolescents. This role involves collaboration with a treatment team to identify behavioral goals and recommend non-aversive methods for behavioral change. The Behavior Consultant primarily focuses on assessment, program design, and monitoring, while also participating in team meetings and providing consultation in various settings, such as schools.

Responsibilities

• Design and direct the implementation of individualized behavior modification intervention plans.
• Identify behavioral goals and intervention techniques for children and adolescents.
• Recommend non-aversive behavioral change methods.
• Provide assessment, program design, and monitoring rather than direct therapy.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other treatment team members.
• Consult in special child-centered, family-focused meetings as needed.

Requirements

• A License in PA as a Behavior Specialist.
• BCBA Certification.
• Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or Counseling with a minimum of 1-year full-time experience working with children/adolescents in the mental health field.
• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Counseling, or a related field with completion of a clinical mental health service practicum.
