About the position

The Behavior Consultant at Merakey plays a crucial role in supporting children and families by designing and implementing individualized behavior modification intervention plans. This position focuses on assessment, program design, and monitoring rather than direct therapy, collaborating with a treatment team to achieve behavioral goals and recommend non-aversion methods. The role includes participation in team meetings and may involve consulting in special child-centered meetings when conflicts arise in other systems, such as schools.

Responsibilities

• Design and direct the implementation of individualized behavior modification intervention plans.
• Identify behavioral goals and intervention techniques for children and adolescents.
• Recommend non-aversion behavioral change methods.
• Serve as a consultant to the Mobile Therapist within the treatment team.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and strategies.
• Consult in special child-centered, family-focused meetings when conflicts arise in other systems.

Requirements

• A License in PA as a Behavior Specialist.
• BCBA Certification.
• Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Counseling with a minimum of 1-year full-time experience working with children/adolescents in the mental health field.
• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Counseling, or a related field with completion of a clinical mental health service practicum.
