Behavior Consultant

About the position

The Behavior Consultant at Merakey is responsible for designing and implementing individualized behavior modification intervention plans for children and adolescents, collaborating with a treatment team to identify behavioral goals and recommend non-aversion methods. This role focuses on assessment, program design, and monitoring rather than direct therapy, while also participating in team meetings and consulting in special child-centered meetings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and direct the implementation of individualized behavior modification intervention plans.
• Identify behavioral goals and intervention techniques for children and adolescents.
• Recommend non-aversion behavioral change methods.
• Serve as a consultant to the Mobile Therapist within the treatment team.
• Participate in team meetings and provide assessment and program design.
• Consult in special child-centered, family-focused meetings when conflicts arise in other systems.

Requirements

• A License in PA as a Behavior Specialist or a BCBA Certification.
• A Master's degree in ABA or a related field.
• A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Counseling with a minimum of 1-year full-time experience working with children/adolescents in the mental health field.
• A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Counseling, or a related field with completion of a clinical mental health service practicum.
