The Behavior Intervention Specialist - Parent Trainer role focuses on providing support and training to families with children facing behavioral challenges. The position aims to empower parents with effective behavior management strategies and communication techniques, fostering positive relationships within the family and community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training sessions tailored to the unique needs of each family, focusing on behavior management strategies.
- Conduct assessments to identify the specific needs of families related to behavior management.
- Develop and customize training materials focused on effective behavior intervention techniques.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for parents, ensuring engagement and understanding.
- Provide ongoing support and coaching to parents as they implement behavior strategies at home.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to share insights and strategies for enhancing parent training.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adjust as necessary based on feedback.
- Maintain accurate documentation of training sessions and family progress reports.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Special Education and/or ABA
- Experience working with students with disabilities
- Experience managing behaviors
- Candidates must live in EASTERN QUEENS, SUFFOLK, OR NASSAU COUNTY
