The Behavior Intervention Technician plays a crucial role in supporting students with behavioral difficulties within the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District. This part-time position involves implementing behavior support plans and assisting in both instructional and non-classroom activities to enhance students' academic and social-emotional learning. The technician works under the direction of an assigned administrator to foster a nurturing environment that prioritizes the holistic development of children.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of student behavior support plans.
• Assist in instructional and non-classroom related activities to support students' academic and social-emotional learning.
• Develop and implement behavior support plans.
• Collect behavioral data in a school or home setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, and associate's degree, or some college coursework in a related area of study.
• Two years of experience working directly with students with behavioral difficulties in an educational setting.
• Documented training within the past 6 months in applied behavior analysis and/or other strategies for working with students who have behavior difficulties.
• Successful passage of the District's Job Related Proficiency Test.
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency.
• Valid California Class C Driver's License and Evidence of Insurability.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in developing, implementing, and supporting behavior support and intervention plans.
• Training in collecting behavioral data.
