About the position

The Behavior Interventionist at Cortica will provide direct behavior therapy services to individuals with autism and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team. This role is essential in delivering life-changing care to children with neurodevelopmental differences, contributing to the company's mission of fostering the full potential of every child.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Cortica's orientation and complete Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training.
  • Provide direct implementation of behavior-analytic services to children with autism spectrum disorder in both 1:1 and group settings.
  • Implement positive behavior strategies developed with the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Utilize antecedent and consequence strategies based on treatment plans with the BCBA.
  • Work in various settings including home, community, school, and clinic to provide behavior-analytic care.
  • Fulfill documentation requirements including data collection and session notes.
  • Assist with individualized assessment procedures through preference assessments and data collection.
  • Collaborate with families and supervisors to create a supportive environment for treatment and education.
  • Follow crisis and emergency procedures, including de-escalation and first aid strategies.
  • Represent the Cortica ABA program professionally in communication and demeanor.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children, preferably those with autism.
  • Bachelor's degree in a human service or related field preferred; relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Willingness to obtain Registered Behavior Technician credential within the first 45 days of employment.
  • Availability to work some days, late afternoons, and evenings.
  • Valid California Driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is preferred.
