About the position

The Behavior Interventionist plays a crucial role in supporting teachers and school staff by providing interventions and behavioral strategies to manage and reduce student behavior problems. This position involves direct implementation of interventions, data collection, and training for school personnel, all under the supervision of a behavior specialist or teacher leader.

Responsibilities

  • Provide teachers and school staff with interventions and accommodations for managing student behavior problems.
  • Collect and analyze data related to student behavior.
  • Explore and model various intervention alternatives for staff.
  • Train school staff on behavioral strategies and interventions.
  • Temporarily supervise and manage students as needed.
  • Directly implement behavioral interventions with students.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in direct implementation of behavior management techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, principals, parents, and students.
  • Functional knowledge of Special Education law.
  • Ability to problem solve and implement various academic and behavioral programs under supervision.
