About the position

The Behavior Interventionist (BI) at Easterseals Northern California plays a crucial role in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. This part-time position involves working closely with families to provide individualized treatment and create an optimal learning environment for children. The BI collaborates with behavioral health clinicians to implement in-home and community-based interventions, ensuring that children achieve their goals and thrive. The role requires empathy, understanding, and a commitment to equity and belonging within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Implement in-home/community-based intervention in person and/or via teletherapy under supervision.
  • Travel to home and community settings to deliver services as required.
  • Meet established minimum productivity requirements while providing efficient and effective service.
  • Complete necessary documentation within required timeframes, including behavioral data collection and treatment notes.
  • Stay current with new research and trends in ABA and related fields.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings as requested.
  • Complete additional job duties as assigned by Supervisors/Management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Relevant experience preferred.
  • RBT Certification preferred.
  • Sensitivity to working with a diverse population.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledgeable in computer/word processing software and Excel.
  • Reliable transportation and valid California Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Recent experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or related developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based methodologies such as ABA, ESDM, TEACCH, PECS, and PRT.
  • Experience providing education and support to families with children with ASD.
  • Bilingual ability or proficiency in American Sign Language.
