About the position

The Title I Behavior Interventionist at American Leadership Academy is responsible for assessing and addressing the behavioral challenges faced by students in the school environment. This role involves developing intervention plans based on thorough evaluations, including past behavior reports and consultations with staff and the student's support system. The interventionist aims to promote positive behavior changes and enhance academic success for students, particularly those exhibiting inappropriate behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Assess challenges faced by students in the school setting and daily life.
• Develop appropriate intervention plans to address students' inappropriate behaviors.
• Utilize past behavior reports, observations, and interviews to inform intervention strategies.
• Set short and long-term goals for behavioral changes.
• Refer students presenting immediate danger or threat to the Campus Director following ALA policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or content area.
• CPR and First Aid trained.
• CPI trained.

Nice-to-haves

• CPI Trainer certification.
• Valid AZ Special Education Teaching Certificate.
• 3-5 years experience working as a behavior interventionist.
• BCBA certification.
