About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to work closely with children and individuals with autism and other behavioral challenges. This role focuses on providing support and interventions to promote positive behavioral changes, utilizing expertise in data collection, diagnostic evaluation, and patient assessment to develop tailored strategies that meet the unique needs of each individual.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate behavioral needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to implement effective behavioral strategies.
  • Provide training and support to staff on best practices for working with children with special needs.
  • Utilize medical terminology effectively in communication and documentation.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in behavioral health.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children, particularly those on the autism spectrum or with special education needs.
  • Strong skills in data collection and analysis related to behavioral assessments.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation techniques and patient assessment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation standards and HIPAA compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • A background in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
