About the position
The Behavior Support Technician role at Acorn & Oak involves providing one-on-one support to neurodivergent children under the guidance of a Licensed Behavior Analyst. This part-time position is designed for individuals passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in the lives of children and their families. The role includes training and mentorship to ensure adherence to evidence-based teaching strategies.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to neurodivergent children.
- Implement evidence-based techniques under the guidance of a Licensed Behavior Analyst.
- Complete a 40-hour online training course to meet licensing requirements.
- Maintain diligent adherence to training and supervision protocols.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Hold at least a High School Diploma or GED.
- Have access to reliable transportation.
- Possess a valid driver's license or government-issued ID.
- Meet legal requirements to work in the United States.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Demonstrate an interest in working with children.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with children or adolescents.
- Experience in a preschool or early-learning setting.
- Experience interacting with neurodivergent individuals.
- Some coursework in psychology, child development, education, or a related field.
