About the position

As a Behavior Technician at Autism Spectrum Therapies (AST), you will play a crucial role in helping children with autism develop essential skills through applied behavior analysis (ABA). This entry-level position is in high demand and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and their families. You will work with children from toddler to school age, providing therapy in their homes or at AST centers, while gaining valuable experience in the field of behavioral health.

Responsibilities

• Support children with autism in learning and developing communication, socialization, and self-help skills through play-based therapy.
• Create lasting, positive change for children and their families.
• Engage in physical activities as required by specific client assignments, including lifting up to 35 pounds and moving quickly according to client needs.
• Participate in training to develop skills for a career in behavior analysis, teaching, occupational therapy, and related fields.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years on or before the first day of employment.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Availability to work a consistent weekly schedule, including mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Some college education, which can include AP courses, ROP courses, Dual Enrollment, Technical School, or Training school.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual, with English/Spanish fluency.
• Studied, majored, or minored in psychology, education, special education, childcare, behavioral health, health science, or a related field.
• Experience working with children in roles such as babysitter, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, or camp counselor.
