About the position

The Behavior Therapist position at RCS offers a full-time opportunity to work with children diagnosed with Autism in a supportive and ethically grounded environment. The role involves delivering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, implementing behavior programs, and collaborating with other specialists to enhance the learning experience of students aged 6-22. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the field of human services and special education.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver ABA services to children ages 6-22 diagnosed with Autism.
  • Implement skill acquisition and behavior programs.
  • Conduct data collection electronically using Catalyst.
  • Work collaboratively with other specialties such as SLPs, OTs, and Special Education Teachers.
  • Use restraint and hold techniques learned via SOLVE training in conjunction with the student's behavior support plan.
  • Address basic needs such as feeding, diapering, toileting, and dressing.
  • Be able to lift 60 lbs.
  • Work on a computer or be on your feet for extended periods of time.

Requirements

  • Enjoy working with children ages 6-22 years old.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and possess a desire to learn.
  • Have an interest in Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, human services, special education, social work, childcare, or a related field.
  • Preferably have or be working towards a Bachelor's degree.
  • Candidates with a high school diploma will be considered.
  • Experience working as a babysitter, nanny, paraprofessional, tutor, camp counselor, or coach preferred.
  • Able to submit a transcript.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with children with Autism.
  • Previous experience in a related field such as psychology or special education.
