About the position

The Behavior Technician position at ABS Kids involves working directly with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, implementing treatment plans, and helping them develop essential life skills. This role is focused on creating positive experiences and 'wow moments' for clients while providing support to their families. The position offers a pathway for career growth and development in the field of behavior health.

Responsibilities

  • Teach kids while playing and following a treatment plan specific to that child
  • Observe, play, and collect data to write progress notes
  • Help kids learn essential life skills such as motor skills, social skills, and emotional skills
  • Work on goals with children to shape challenging behaviors into communication skills
  • Make a difference in the life of a child

Requirements

  • Paid prior experience working with kids (e.g., camp counselor, daycare, nanny, school setting, ABA) preferred
  • High energy, playful, creative, and able to think on your feet
  • Dependable and reliable for clients and their families
  • Ability to constantly get up and down off the floor and move quickly
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with data collection software and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Desire to learn, work independently, and provide high-quality care to clients
  • Interest in working with evidence-based methods based in science

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in behavior analysis or related fields
  • Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
