About the position

The Behavior Technician Floater position at Meelo involves providing in-school care for students with special needs, particularly those with autism. This role is crucial in assisting Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) in implementing behavior plans and supporting students in their daily activities. The position requires flexibility as it involves substituting for other Behavior Technicians across various school locations, ensuring that students receive consistent and effective care.

Responsibilities

• Substitute for Behavior Technicians who are unable to work on a given day.
• Cover assignments at various schools in the district, including elementary, middle, and high schools.
• Provide in-person behavior intervention services to students.
• Implement behavior intervention and skill acquisition plans as directed by BCBAs.
• Collect and record data on students' progress and behavior.
• Follow the guidelines and codes of conduct set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
• Attend team meetings and complete required training sessions.
• Collaborate with teachers, school social workers, counselors, and other professionals involved in student care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred).
• RBT Certification (preferred but not mandatory).
• 1 year of experience in childcare or working with children.
• Experience working with individuals with autism or other special needs (preferred).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

• Current RBT certification.
• Experience applying ABA concepts in previous roles.
