About the position

The Behavior Technician Floater position at Meelo involves providing in-school care for students with special needs as substitutes for regular Behavior Technicians. The role focuses on assisting Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) in implementing behavior plans, monitoring student behavior, and collecting data on their progress. This position is crucial in helping improve the lives of children with special needs and requires a compassionate and dedicated individual.

Responsibilities

  • Substitute for Behavior Technicians who are unable to work.
  • Cover assignments at various schools in the district, including elementary, middle, or high schools.
  • Provide in-person behavior intervention services.
  • Implement behavior intervention and skill acquisition plans.
  • Collect and record data on patients' progress.
  • Follow Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) guidelines and codes of conduct.
  • Attend team meetings and complete training sessions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school social workers, counselors, and others involved in student care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (AA degree is a plus).
  • Training or experience working with individuals with autism or other special needs.
  • Childcare experience (nanny, babysitter, mentor, tutor, coach, counselor).
  • Ability to creatively solve problems in dynamic environments.
  • Dexterity to operate standard office equipment.
  • Physical ability to walk, run, stand for long periods, kneel, crawl, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Reliable car, proof of auto insurance, and valid driver's license required.
  • Desire to help others gain valuable life skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current RBT certification.
  • Prior experience with extreme behavior handling.
  • Experience applying ABA concepts.
