About the position

The Behavior Technician will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized treatment plans for clients facing behavioral challenges. This part-time role is essential in providing support and guidance to clients, helping them achieve personal goals and improve their quality of life through effective behavioral interventions.

Responsibilities

• Implement behavior intervention plans as directed by the supervising BCBA.
• Collect and record data on client progress and behavior changes.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote independence.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with families and caregivers to educate them on strategies that support client development.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and modify care plans as necessary.
• Provide support in special education settings, ensuring that clients receive appropriate behavioral health interventions.
• Utilize principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to foster positive behavioral changes.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in a relevant field.
• 2 years of experience working with youth who require behavior management.
• Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices.
• Proficient in medical documentation and maintaining accurate medical records.
• Knowledge of care plan development and implementation.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Ability to educate clients, families, and caregivers on behavioral strategies effectively.
• Experience with activities of daily living (ADLs) support.
• Background in special education or related fields is a plus.
• Understanding of behavioral health concepts and practices.
• Proficiency in Applied Behavior Analysis techniques.
