About the position

The Behavior Technician at Northway Academy plays a crucial role in providing center-based Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related disabilities. This position focuses on implementing therapeutic and behavioral plans to enhance the social and self-management skills of clients, while working closely with a dedicated clinical team. Responsibilities

• Run therapeutic and behavioral plans to provide early intervention for clients.
• Guide clients on developmental goals including communication, exercise, nutrition, and academic skills.
• Support individuals in maintaining personal skills such as hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Teach and model interpersonal and social skills to help individuals thrive in their communities.
• Assist in managing and redirecting agitated or aggressive behaviors using appropriate strategies.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a mental health discipline or hold a master's degree in a mental health field.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in behavioral health, child development, or related fields with 6,000 hours of clinical experience delivering ABA services.
• Enrolled in or hold a bachelor's degree in behavioral health, child development, or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy).
• Hold an associate's degree in behavioral health, child development, or related fields with at least 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience.
• Possess a high school diploma (or GED) with 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Fluency in a non-English language or certification by a tribal nation.
