The Behavioral Health Assessment Coordinator at Northwest Specialty Hospital is a part-time role focused on managing and organizing the admission processes for geropsychiatric and medical detoxification services. This position involves conducting pre-admission assessments, coordinating with medical staff, and ensuring appropriate treatment plans for patients. The role emphasizes compassionate care and teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment, aiming to provide high-quality behavioral health services to adults aged 18 and older.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-admission assessments of geropsychiatric and medical detoxification candidates from phone inquiries, faxed referrals, and onsite assessments.
- Make acceptance recommendations to the Medical Director and/or Director of Behavioral Health.
- Collaborate with in-house staff to offer geropsychiatric and medical detoxification services to patients on other floors and units at NNMC who qualify.
- Coordinate with staff to transfer patients promptly to the unit to ensure optimal patient care.
- Work closely with the department Medical Director to assure admissions are appropriate and treatment plans are consistent with program objectives.
- Assist the Director with the accurate collection and analysis of data regarding referral sources, admission trending, and non-admissions due to not meeting criteria for the unit.
- Conduct post-discharge follow-up of medical detoxification patients at 3 days post-discharge.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree or higher.
- Current licensure in the State of Nevada as a LCSW or RN.
- Experience working in a behavioral health treatment setting.
- Basic Life Support certification (may obtain once hired within 90 days of employment).
