About the position

Harbor Oaks Hospital, New Baltimore's leading Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Center, is seeking a passionate Behavioral Health Associate to work at our facility in New Baltimore, MI. This position involves providing personal care services to patients under the direction of clinical or nursing leadership, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a positive and supportive environment. Day and night positions are available, with rotating holidays and weekends. The pay range for this position is $14.75 - $23.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care services to patients under clinical or nursing leadership direction.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to patient safety and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure the well-being of patients and maintain a positive, supportive environment.
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision at 15-minute intervals as needed.
  • Document timely and accurate clinical information in patient's medical record.
  • Assist in providing a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.
  • Interact with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, and meals.
  • Obtain and document patient's vital signs, height, and weight as assigned.
  • Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups on various topics.
  • Engage patients in activities to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation and assist with incident follow-up.
  • Provide or coordinate transportation for patients as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
  • CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
  • First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
