About The Position

The Behavioral Health Care Manager at Towson University is responsible for providing behavioral health care management and coordination for students at the University Health Center. This role involves working under the supervision of the Medical Director to support mental health care provided by the psychiatry and primary care teams, coordinating referrals for additional services, and ensuring compliance with immunization and TB screening requirements. The position emphasizes collaboration with various university departments and requires participation in committees focused on mental health and care management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an Associate's Degree in Nursing with more than 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • One year of Care/Case Management or Social Work experience.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) or Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW) or Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Maryland.
  • Experience in providing care/case management to primary care or psychiatric patients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience navigating electronic health records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care management and care coordination to TU students at the University Health Center.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and/or specialty services as needed.
  • Conduct intake visits and provide ongoing care in coordination with the Health Center team.
  • Document patient interactions within the electronic health record.
  • Systematically track patient follow-up, clinical outcomes, and treatment responses.
  • Monitor patients for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications.
  • Collect, analyze, monitor, and maintain immunization compliance data.
  • Prepare reports reflecting immunization compliance data and communicate with students regarding their status.
  • Participate in university committees focused on mental health or care management.
  • Engage in continuing education to improve knowledge of care management and behavioral health topics.
