About the position

The Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist at UCHealth provides comprehensive mental health care in a primary care setting, focusing on both individual and group therapy. This role emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, ensuring exceptional outcomes through collaboration and innovative practices. The therapist is responsible for assessing patients, implementing treatment plans, and coordinating discharge planning while also contributing to the training of new staff and interns.

Responsibilities

• Implement counseling/therapy for assigned patients in both individual and group settings.
• Interview and assess patients and/or their family, caregivers, and/or legal representatives.
• Determine, provide, and/or arrange for needed internal and external services/interventions.
• Participate in and/or arrange case reviews/care conferences to evaluate patient progress.
• Assist with discharge planning and processes, including identifying community-based resources and providing referrals.
• Assess, collaborate, and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with other members of the care team.
• Utilize appropriate teaching methods and/or referrals to ensure patient/family educational needs are met.
• Participate in and/or train new staff, students, and interns as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• State licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), or Licensed Addiction Counselor (ACD).
