About the position
The Behavioral Health Clinician position at Hartford HealthCare involves providing clinical services to children and adolescents struggling with psychiatric or substance abuse issues. The clinician will work within interdisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based care, including individual, group, and family therapy, while also conducting assessments and establishing care plans. This role is crucial in supporting patients and their families through various challenges, ensuring they receive appropriate care and resources.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments and establish care plans as appropriate.
- Provide direct patient care including case management, care coordination, and crisis intervention.
- Refer patients to appropriate levels of care and available resources.
- Maintain timely patient-centered documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related Human Service field.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with mental health and/or chemical dependency populations.
- Current Connecticut LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A, or CADC certification.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to establish relationships within and outside the organization.
- Valid Driver's License.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of health-related social needs and cultural competence.
