About the position

The Behavioral Health Clinician at SEARHC provides a range of therapeutic services to clients of all ages, including individual, group, family, and marital therapy. This role involves conducting intake evaluations, crisis intervention, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive client care. The clinician is responsible for maintaining clinical records, adhering to regulatory standards, and providing supervision to less experienced staff. This position also requires on-call availability for after-hours crisis interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide screening, assessment, diagnoses, treatment planning, direct therapy, and continuing care to individual clients and families.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate therapy groups as needed.
  • Provide care coordination, client advocacy, and skill development.
  • Conduct discharge planning and provide clinically related chemical dependence and mental health services.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clinical and paraprofessional teams to achieve treatment goals.
  • Provide on-call coverage and assistance in BH programs across the Behavioral Health Department.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records as required by laws and regulations.
  • Complete screening, assessments, treatment plans, and documentation per program standards.
  • Prepare and review treatment and discharge summaries.
  • Coordinate with community social service resources for optimal client care.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and assist in developing treatment plans.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed or in the process of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Valid State of Alaska Driver's License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • At least five years of experience in the field preferred for licensed clinicians.

Nice-to-haves

  • Alaska State Chemical Dependency Counselor I or MAC certificate or equivalent.
